space

In 2002 members of The Horseboating Society took the historic horsedrawn boat Elland around the South Pennine Ring.

The western part of the Rochdale Canal was not yet open when the boat crossed the canal's summit! Elland arrived at Littleborough in time for the opneing of the new Ben Healey Bridge and Fred Dibnah carried out the ribbon-cutting ceremony from the bow of Elland.
