Friday July 3
To Marple
• The horseboat Maria will be towed from her home mooring at Guidebridge by Steve Kelly and his motor tug.
• We will start horseboating to come horse-drawn over the Marple Aqueduct.
Crew/photographers – please meet at the bottom of the locks at 1.00-2.00 pm. Lunch for anyone who has not already had it.
• Boathorse to be harnessed up. Walk to boat with gear. Prepare boat.
• Set off at 3.00 pm. Arrive Top Lock maybe 6.30 – 7.00 pm
Sunday July 5
Marple Locks Festival
• Gather at 9.00 am. Boat and horse to be prepared.
• 10.00 am, set off from from the Top Lock.
Horse-drawn boat down 4 locks to festival site.
• Moor up alongside festival site. Boathorse into park onto grass grazing. Lunch for us all. Look round stalls etc.
• 2.00 pm Harnessing demo.
• 3.00 pm Set off down remaining 12 locks.
• Horseboat over aqueduct. Possibly as far as Hyde Bank Tunnel.
Then Ashton Packet Boat Co to tow Maria back to Guidebridge.

Horseboating with horseboat Vixen on the Rochdale Canal
• Saturday Oct 17: Hebden Bridge (near rail station) to Mytholmroyd (for Arts Festival)
• Sunday Oct 18: Mytholmroyd to Hebden Bridge
• Thursday Nov 12: Stubbing Wharf to Hebden Bridge (near rail station)
